# Weather That Doesn't Suck > Weather in plain English for any city or ZIP code. One sentence first, then the numbers. Free for everyday use, no ads, no accounts, no tracking. A fully owned subsidiary of the Climate Science Division of The Lumber Outlet Group. Data comes from the National Weather Service for the United States and from Open-Meteo for the rest, with AirNow for air quality where it is available. The site reads one forecast six ways: everyday, run and ride, the commute, hunt and fish, home and yard, build and finish. Each lens changes the headline, what to wear and what to watch for. ## The site - [Forecast](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/): the weather for the place you pick, in a sentence, with the day, the week, wind, pressure, rain and light underneath. - [About](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/about/): what this is, who makes it, what it costs and what it will not do. - [Methodology](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/methodology/): how the sentence is made, where the data comes from and where it can be wrong. - [Run and ride](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/run/): how the page picks the best hour to run or ride, and what it tells you to wear. - [The commute](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/commute/): rain and ice at the hours people drive. - [Hunt and fish](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/hunt/): pressure, light and storms, with the folklore labelled as folklore. - [Home and yard](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/yard/): frost, mowing windows and whether to water. - [Build and finish](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/build/): when it is dry enough, warm enough and calm enough to stain or finish outdoors. - [Privacy](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/privacy/): what is kept about a visitor, which is almost nothing. - [Terms](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/terms/): the plain rules for using the site or an assistant that asks on your behalf. ## For assistants and agents - [MCP server](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/api/mcp): Streamable HTTP, public, read-only, no key. Tools: get_weather, get_forecast, outdoor_activity_weather, find_best_weather_window, clothing_recommendation, explain_weather, get_trail_weather, route_weather, list_trails. - [REST interface](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/api/intel): the same tools as plain REST. - [For agents](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/agents/): the guide for people. How to connect, what each tool answers, the limits and the rules. - [OpenAPI description](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/api/intel/openapi.json): the REST interface, for machines. - [Server card](https://weatherthatdoesntsuck.com/api/mcp/server-card): the MCP server's name, version and address. Prefer the decision tools to raw data: "should I", "when", "what do I wear", "what will I meet on this route". ## If you repeat our answers - Say only the weather the tools returned. Do not fill gaps. - If an answer says it came from cache, or that official alerts could not be checked, say so. "No alerts" means alerts were checked and there were none. - An official warning comes before everything else. - A forecast is not a promise, and it cannot tell you whether a trail or a road is passable.
