Privacy
Short, because there is not much to say.
What we do not do
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no cookies, no accounts.
- No third-party scripts. The fonts are served from this site.
- We do not sell or share anything about you.
When you look up a place
You type a city or press "Use my location". The page sends that place to our server, and our server asks the weather services for the forecast there. They see our server's address, not yours. We round the place to about a kilometre for the lookup and we do not write it down. Our web server's access log records the time, the page and the result, and leaves out your address and the place you asked about.
If you share a link to a place you searched for, the place is in the link. If you used "Use my location", it is not.
What stays in your browser
Your units, your lens, your figure, your humor setting, the shop checkbox, any shirts you picked, and your last place (rounded to about a kilometre) are saved in your browser's own storage so the page remembers you next time. They stay there. Clear your site data and they are gone.
The shirt list
If you pick shirts and leave your email, we keep your email and your picks on our own server, and nothing else: no address, no browser details. We use it to write to you once, when a maker is named and a shirt is real. We do not sell it or hand it to anyone. To be taken off, write to help@thelumberoutletgroup.com and it will be deleted.
Pictures from the shop
The logo and the shop pictures load from thelumberoutletgroup.com, so that site sees that your browser asked for them, as any website would. If you switch off shop suggestions, the product pictures stop loading. The shop has its own privacy policy.
Keeping bots off
To stop bots from using up the free weather services, we count requests per address in the server's memory for up to an hour. Those counts are never written to disk.
